Whatever your objectives IMA offers daily racing programs at multiple locations throughout Southwest Florida for ages 5 years to adult.  Schools programs are currently available this summer at Sebring International Raceway in Sebring,FL and Charlotte County Motorsports Park, Punta Gorda with pre-registration.  Click here for Menu 

 


 

IMA in conjunction with Bradenton Preparatory Academy offers full-time programs which allow a student concentration in racing without compromising academics. Bradenton Preparatory Academy has tailored an academic program for the Full-time IMA Racing Student allowing for racing instruction in the morning at the IMA Facilities followed by afternoon academics.  Full-time racing programs are available for students currently exceling in racing competition as well as those students new to the sport from age 8 to adult.

SCHOOL CURRICULUMS

 
 

Students will choose a daily kart school to discover the sport or to improve their technique for the next competition. Daily programs are scheduled as Half-day, full-day and two day curriculums. Daily programs can include an understanding of the racing flags, the racing Line, threshold and trail braking techniques, lead follow sessions with a professional instructor, competition race starts, drafting, passing, kart set up, race preparation & strategies, and data acquisition analysis.

 

Course Details 

 

 

Full-time Advanced

 

The Advanced student has participated in major karting competitions at a National level. The advanced student’s objective is to become a professional driver following the motorsports career ladder. The advanced curriculum will focus on competition training including advanced kart mechanics, data acquisition and analysis of driving technique, physical and mental conditioning. Students will be educated in sponsorship and marketing to advance their career up the motorsports ladder. Following submission of the application, students will qualify for the advanced curriculum with a driving audition, written exam, and a formal interview to determine goals and objectives.

 
 
 

The Intermediate Student has participated in local karting competitions. Intermediate qualified student will be able to identify the racing line, apexes, and turn-ins on various tracks. Students will qualify for the Intermediate Curriculum with driving audition, written exam, and formal interview to determine goals and objectives. The Intermediate curriculum focuses on analysis of driving technique, vehicle dynamics and kart mechanics, mental and physical conditioning, and an introduction to motorsports as a career along with education on how to obtain marketing & sponsorship opportunities.

 

 

The Basic student has minimal or no karting experience. The basic curriculum focuses on driving technique, kart mechanics, vehicle dynamics, and preparation for karting competitions including physical and mental conditioning. The basic student will be interviewed to assess goals and objectives.

   

 

Students in need of intensified instruction will have the opportunity to participate in a weekly or daily accelerated program in the afternoon. Students will prepare for competition races and accelerate their racing abilities with additional instruction. Students will work with an advanced instructor and receive one on one coaching using direct feedback and data acquisition. The students will focus on driving technique and racing strategy

 

 

The weekly short-time curriculum is designed for students who want an accelerated program tailored to meet their current experience level and improve performance for competition. Drivers will attend the short-time academy for a minimum of two-three weeks to be immersed in the racing environment and have a competitive edge upon their course completion.   Drivers will receive training based on their current experience level including driving analysis and competitive training, kart mechanics, vehicle dynamics, physical and mental conditioning.

 

Race Team  

 
Students join the IMA Race Team to develop their racing abilities and accelerate their rise towards the top of theMotorsports Ladder.
